Hey everyone!
It's all been a bit quiet on here lately and my apologies for that. Life has taken over.
Specifically, a death in the family requiring a hastily-arranged trip back to the UK, and some difficult times at work.
But fear not, loyal readers! I've finally found the time to update you – albeit from the oddest place I've ever blogged – 35,000ft above the Atlantic!
It's my birthday today, so me and Gerry are flying south to Tenerife to celebrate, along with a whole bunch of Norwegian sun-seekers.
We're flying with Norwegian on one of their newer 737-800's, complete with free wi-fi – so this entire blog post including the photos has been brought to you from mid-air. Isn't technology wonderful? 😉
I've often been told that many Norwegian pensioners head to mainland Spain, the Balearics and the Canaries for a few weeks or even months during the winter. That seems spot on, as we received the first snowfall of the season last week and this flight is full of leather-faced old ladies 🙂
I've a whole host of blog posts in draft, including a profile of local band Oslo Ess, the downsides of being an expat, the climax of the 2012 Tippeligaen season, the working culture in Norway, an insight into the nerdy sub-culture of Oslo, and a whole lot more. So do please stay tuned!
But right now, I'm about 90 minutes away from my first Margarita 🙂
I'll send a postcard!
David x
Yeah! Love this Norwegian service. I hope it stays free ;-).
Great post! I agree! That must be the oddest place to blog from! Keep those posts coming! Odd greetings …
Just a quick reminder that when we checked this airplane out a while you said the following:
“yeah, they put a window on the ceiling of the plane so you get more light”
AND I BELIEVED YOU. Such fools.
