Norwegian reward program

Norwegian Reward, the loyalty program of the airline Norwegian, offers anyone living in Norway the chance to earn free flights, even if you normally fly with other airlines, such as KLM or SAS.

How Norwegian Reward works

Unlike many frequent flyer programs, the program is simply to understand. Whenever you fly with Norwegian, use a Bank Norwegian credit card, or use services from one of their partners, you will earn the loyalty points known as Cashpoints.

Residents of Norway can apply for a Bank Norwegian credit card here. Example for deferred payment: Effective interest rate 24.4 %, 15,000 kroner over 1 year. Costs: 1,849 kroner. Total: 16,849 kroner.

When it comes to redeeming those points on free flights, one Cashpoint equals one krone.

Even if you don't earn many Cashpoints during the year, they can still be spent on something useful. If you earn a few hundred Cashpoints then you can easily afford a domestic flight with Norwegian.

But even if you don't have so many, you can spend them on increasing your luggage allowance, or use of the fast-track security lane, for example.

Bear in mind that earning points with the credit card should only ever be considered a bonus. The use of credit cards should only be done with the full understanding of the interest rates and your personal economy.

Earn Points Without Flying

With traditional frequent flyer programs, passengers are rewarded for every flight they take. While that's also the case with Norwegian Reward, members can quickly accrue points through the use of the Bank Norwegian credit card.

The card earns you between 0.5% and 5% cashback in the form of Cashpoints on a variety of purchases. On the majority of purchases, you'll earn 0.5%. On flights with Norwegian, you'll earn between 3% and 5%, depending on the fare class.

Over the course of a year, your saved Cashpoints could be enough for one or even two return flights with Norwegian, all without taking into account any points you may have earned through flying with them!
